About Me
I started life as a conductor at London Road garage int the mid 60's, I went on to become a driver and like many others drove big bertha's on the Wood Green route. I think I was one of a just a few that actually drove fleet No 2182, a manual gearbox Bristol on that route. I finally left Eastern National in 1992 having been made up to a Mobile Inspector at Head Office from my position as a driver at Chelmsford Depot.
I was the driver of WNO 479 at Mangapps in 1992 and along with my wife we gave rides to members of the public, happy days! The money we raised that day went towards repainting the old girl. Now fully retired I have many hours to spend appreciating the long history I have with Eastern National. |
